Calcium fertilizers
Lime fertilizers are responsible for the regulation of soil pH. They improve the physicochemical properties, increase the assimilability of phosphorus, potassium and magnesium as well as micronutrients. They reduce the toxic effect of aluminum and manganese and limit the availability for heavy metals. Calcium fertilizers have a positive effect on the decomposition of organic matter. They also support organic and mineral fertilization, improving the quality of agricultural crops.
What are calcium fertilizers?
Calcium fertilizers can be divided into two basic groups. The first is responsible for regulating the pH of the soil. In the second, calcium acts as the main nutrient. Liming of the subsoil is an excellent way to prevent acidification of the soil, which occurs among other things as a result of the natural leaching of calcium. Since most soils in Poland are acidic, the National Programme for the Environmental Regeneration of Soils through Liming has been introduced. If you are considering a choice of limestone fertilizers, we encourage you to contact us. We will explain how you can get funding for liming.
What is the role of lime in fertilization?
Lime fertilizers provide plants with the necessary elements for proper fruit formation and ripening. Such products stabilize the soil structure and reduce the phytotoxicity of specific elements. Furthermore, the use of lime fertilizers reduces the occurrence of physiological and storage diseases. This reduces the risk of the development of such diseases as dry rot, brown leaves and bitter pit blemish.
